new design for old sounds
headed by farid zitoun and christian rüger, the naturheilzentrum bottrop goes its own, very special and unique way in view of the project “nalabo selective health effect”. relaxing and stimulating compositions transport the traditional healing methods of music therapy into the 21st century. music is one of the oldest therapy forms on earth. whether it´s hindu mantras, shamanic chants or drums – sounds and tones are connected to healing processes in many cultures. egyptian priests already used music as a healing instrument in ancient history, and this application dates back even more in the chinese culture. unfortunately, a large part of the knowledge concerning the healing powers of music has been lost over the centuries. “however, there are currently several efforts and projects in science aiming to reconstruct this knowledge for therapeutic purposes”, farid zitoun and christian rüger explain.
chill-out for body and mind
farid zitoun and christian rüger of the naturheilzentrum bottrop had had the idea to transfer traditional and scientifically proven knowledge concerning the power of music into modern chill-out sounds for a long time. in order to implement the vision of modern music as a healing method, a suitable partner, who shares the passion and intention, is required. the two bottrop-based naturopaths found their partners in composer thomas rybka and graphic designer sebastian kluth. this is how the joint project “nalabo selective health effect” with its first album “quality time” emerged from this idea.
sounds, beats and frequencies can help to make those parts inside us, which are out of balance, resonate to restore their natural harmony and interaction. music is said to be able to influence the functions of our organs and our metabolism. “ideally, sounds can dissipate harmonic disturbances within the autonomic nervous system and possibly alleviate pain”, the two founders of nabo explain.
the objective of the “nalabo” project: whilst being nice to listen to and also appealing to younger People, the healing energy of the music should induce a reaction in every listener.
acoustically and in accordance with the five elements of chinese medicine, the twelve work-life balance titles are intended to influence the Human organs in a very special way. the founders of nabo explain: ”every organ has its own frequency that it works with. the liver has a different one than the heart, and so on. together with the composer, we transferred this knowledge to the music.” additionally, the graphic designer integrated the impact of colors into the music.
good health through listening – is that possible?
christian rüger explains: ”quality time can virtually be a health package for each day, e.g. in the car. even if one sits in a traffic jam, the musical composition offers positive input to your body. the cd contains stimulating sequences, as well as relaxing and balancing sounds.” his colleague, farid zitoun, adds: “when studying naturopathy, we often listened to music during our educational trips to asia, where the music was made with singing bowls and other instruments, and it was used in various clinics. when we got back to europe, we studied research which confirmed that music is gaining recognition as a therapy method. based on the musical style of cafe del mar, yet with an effect on the body, but without being esoteric: that was our aspiration regarding the composition of this kind of music with professional support. when i listen to the bass on the cd, my belly vibrates. ideally, the liver, the most important organ, is stimulated. thus, my body receives the impulse for a possibly better detoxification.”
the tones and notes resulting from the deliberate employment of acoustic colors are supposed to stimulate the body to help itself. “we know that colors have an effect”, farid zitoun explains. “red, for instance, stimulates. it's the same with music. if i hear a harp, for example, then i always hear the color yellow. in chinese medicine, this color is associated with the kidney. listening to a sequence of such sounds always reminds me of purling water and i feel like i have to go to the toilet. thus, detoxication via the kidney can be stimulated”; this is one example of the possible effects of this extraordinary cd, as practically explained by one of the nabo founders.
letting go and relaxing: natural balancing with all senses as part of the overall medical concept, with your eyes and ears – prescription-free, free of charge and full of possible effects. the founders of the naturheilzentrum bottrop once again go a creative way, based on old traditions and medicine, and they consolidate their reputation as innovative therapists in complementary medicine. for more details, watch the trailer on www.nalabo.de
